Using a Netbook in 2010s when they were "new" wasn't any good. For basic use it could get you by for anything else don't bother.

I'm fortunate to have one of the seemingly rare Acer Aspire One D255E machines with the dual-core N570 processor. I added a 2GB RAM module. This does perform acceptably well with Linux Mint Xfce on it. None of these Atoms will work well with the (usually enforced) 60Hz on 720p and above but do handle 30Hz OK. By the way, the Aspire D255E's charge LED turns from orange to blue when it's full. The battery on mine still gives a few hours! Love the Toshiba NB520 but my battery is dead.
